The Henry County Development Authority shared a FY 2023 year-in-review this week. During the last 12 months, companies announced one billion dollars in upcoming investment into Henry County. They also plan to create 1,800 jobs.
Eleven companies had corporate expansions in fiscal year 2023.
FY 2023 Year-in-Review
Two major projects headline announcements in the last year. They were Andersen Windows and New Cold Storage.
Andersen Windows will be opening a new windows manufacturing facility in Locust Grove. They plan to invest $420 million dollars — the largest corporate investment in county history — and create 900 jobs. The new facility will be located in the Cubes at Locust Grove development. Construction plans to commence this year and operations start in 2025.
Secondly, New Cold Storage is opening a new automated cold storage facility in McDonough. It is presently under construction on highway 42. Their investment totals $333 million. It will also create 170 positions.
Most recently, NVH Korea announced plans for a site in Locust Grove. Their facility will produce auto parts for electric vehicles. Specifically, they produce the components which allow EV battery cells to communicate with each other. NVH Korea will invest $72 million dollars and create over 160 new jobs. They expect to begin operations during the second quarter of 2024.
A few other companies expanding to Henry County include CarMax and Kuehne + Nagel. Altogether, companies announced 1,820 jobs in the past year. Their capital investment totals $1.005 billion.
