MHF News was founded in 2017 to share transportation updates in Henry County. Local resident Clayton Carte saw a need to highlight road projects in pre-construction work. Since then, the website has grown into a popular source of community news. News coverage includes the following:

  • Transportation projects,
  • New developments and rezoning requests,
  • Henry County Schools and education SPLOST projects,
  • County and city government, and
  • Local elections.

Meet Clayton

Clayton Carte grew up in Henry County and graduated from Ola High School. He presently resides in Locust Grove. Clayton ran for the Georgia State House in 2022. Though he was not successful, the major themes of his campaign — advocating for transportation projects and improved local government operations — remain important in his work today.

Clayton is an Eagle Scout and enjoys the outdoors. His favorite national park is the New River Gorge in West Virginia. The Great Smoky Mountains and Blue Ridge Parkway are also favorites.

Clayton presently serves on the Henry County Schools Superintendent’s Advisory Council. He previously served as the SPLOST V Committee Chair in 2019 and on the comprehensive land use plan stakeholder committee in 2018.
