Georgia DOT is presently accepting public comments on the widening of state route 155 in McDonough. The state is taking comments until this Friday, December 2.

The public comment period allows residents to ask questions or share concerns about the project. In addition, residents can let the state know whether they are in favor or against widening state route 155.

State Route 155

The widening project extends between I-75 and state route 42. The project will expand the roadway to have four travel lanes, a center median as well as a sidewalk on either side of the road. In addition, a notable element of the project would be a new two-lane roundabout at SR 155 and Henry Parkway. The bridge over Norfolk Southern railroad will also see replacement.

Right of way acquisition for the project begins in 2024. Construction is on schedule to start in 2026.

A concept layout of the project is available to view on the state website. Take a look at the state DOT project open house at the link below.

Submit Comments Now

MHF News needs the public’s help to submit comments to Georgia DOT. Historically, Henry County widening projects see a low level of public participation in open houses. At a minimum, let the state know whether you are in support or opposed to the project. It takes less than five minutes.

Visit the link below for the state comment form. Comments are due by Friday, December 2.
