As 2020 draws to a close, Moving Henry Forward likes to recap the year through some of our biggest stories. Here’s a look at our top ten posts of the year, as decided by our readers and the number of views on individual articles.
I count down numbers six through ten in this post. Check back next week for numbers one through five.
10. Ferrero opens McDonough distribution center
Moving Henry Forward was the first to report the opening of a new distribution center in McDonough. Ferrero USA, Inc. began operations this fall at 875 Highway 42 South. The company created two-hundred fifty jobs.
9. Party questions for June 9 primary
Several of our top posts this year involve the 2020 elections, starting with number nine. The political parties polled their respective voters during the June 9 primary.
8. Tax Allocation District referendum in November
Voters considered a tax district question in November, and made the related article number 8 on our list. Because the ballot question passed, county commissioners have a new tool to finance projects.
7. Henry County adopts Safer-at-Home ordinance
In the spring, when coronavirus was first making headlines, the Henry County Board of Commissioners and four cities worked together to adopt a Safer-at-Home ordinance. Consequently, the county’s action was superseded by a statewide order only a few hours after being passed.
6. Home Depot opens Locust Grove Distribution Center
In August, Home Depot announced a new distribution center in Locust Grove. The new facility plans to employ six-hundred associates. The distribution center, located off Georgia 42, started operations in December.
