New Publix on Jonesboro Road Opens in March 2024

Henry County’s latest grocery store, and its newest Publix, will soon open in March 2024. The new Publix on Jonesboro Road is set to open on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

Publix at Shops at Walnut Creek is located at the intersection of Jonesboro Road and Chambers Road. Its street address is 2400 Jonesboro Road, Hampton, GA 30228. This is located west of Interstate 75.

Publix at Walnut Creek will offer a drive-thru pharmacy, meat department & deli, bakery, floral and produce section. The new store’s layout will be similar to other recently-opened locations. It measures 46,791 square feet in size.

In addition to Publix, a variety of shops and outparcels will be joining it. The auxiliary shops include the following:

• Salon Lofts,
• Sage Dental,
• Great Clips,
• Osaka Hibachi & Sushi,
• Allure Nails,
• El Reposo Mexican Restaurant, and
• Two Eggs! Breakfast & Lunch.

A new Zaxby’s restaurant has opened out front. Plus, Chase Bank will be building a new branch immediately adjacent to it. On the opposite side, next to Chambers Road, a daycare plans to build. Finally, six outparcels remain available for additional tenants.

Dart Retail of Marietta is handling leasing info for the property.

Publix in Henry County

Publix at Walnut Creek is the third new Publix within Henry County to open since 2021. Others were in Kelleytown and Ola. The new stores have far-and-above made Publix the most prevalent grocer in the county. Walnut Creek is the company’s eighth location within the county.

The project developer, Venture South Investments, has developed each of the new stores. They have another upcoming project in Locust Grove. It will be at the junction of highway 42 and Tanger Blvd. Right now, the Locust Grove site is estimated to open in the fourth quarter of 2025.
