5 Henry County Schools Start the 2024 Football Playoffs on Friday

Five teams from Henry County will start their playoff quests this Friday night. The 2024 football playoffs begin on November 15.

2024 Football Playoffs

Round 1 games are happening on Friday, November 15. Kickoff is 7:30 pm.

Dutchtown at Decatur (AAAAA)

Dutchtown (4-6) made the playoffs after going 5-2 in region play. They will travel to face Decatur (9-1, 6-1) Friday night.

Result: Dutchtown 48, Decatur 14. Next week: Dutchtown will travel to face Milton (10-0, 6-0). Milton beat Woodstock 42-7 on Friday night.

Flowery Branch at Ola (AAAA)

Ola (10-0, 9-0) hosts Flowery Branch (4-6, 3-3) in McDonough. Ola won the region title for the first time in school history, after Stockbridge had to forfeit their season for using an ineligible player. This left Stockbridge, who had finished 9-1, out of the playoffs.

Result: Flowery Branch 0, Ola 37. Next week: Ola will host Benedictine (5-4, 3-2) who defeated Southwest DeKalb, 35-13, in round one. Benedictine is from Savannah.

Hampton at Eastside (AAAA)

Hampton (8-2, 7-2) finished as the 3 seed in region 2-AAAA. They travel to Covington where they will play Eastside (9-1, 5-1).

Result: Hampton 0, Eastside 42.

Eagle’s Landing at North Oconee (AAAA)

Next, Eagle’s Landing reached the playoffs as the 4 seed from region 2-AAAA. The Golden Eagles (5-5, 5-4) travel to face 8-AAAA region champs North Oconee (10-0, 6-0) near Athens.

Result: Eagle’s Landing 0, North Oconee 49.

Luella at Westover (AAA)

Finally, Luella (5-5, 4-2) will travel to play Westover (9-1, 4-1). Westover High School is in Albany, GA.

Result: Luella 25, Westover 24. Next week: Luella will travel to Cherokee Bluff (9-1, 4-1) in Flowery Branch. Cherokee Bluff defeated Monroe Area 28-14 to advance.
