The Henry County Kiwanis Club donated $150,000 this month to Henry County Parks & Recreation. The donation will build new playgrounds at Cochran Park and Heritage Park.
Kiwanis Club Playgrounds Donation
The local Kiwanis Club made its presentation at the August 20 board of commissioners meeting. Henry County commissioners and staff commended the club for their support of local parks. Parks Director JP Penn shared ”we are very excited about this donation. We have a good working partnership with the Henry County Kiwanis Club; we are very blessed for their support.”
Henry County Chair Harrell remarked ”its partnerships and collaborations like this that make our community great.” Commissioner Robinson added ”this shows the importance of community partners.” Both expressed their gratitude to the Kiwanis Club.
Representatives from the local Kiwanis Club thanked the community for their support, especially during its annual county fair. They shared the event makes donations like this possible. This year’s Henry County Fair is quickly approaching on Wednesday to Sunday, September 18-22, at Heritage Park in McDonough.
