Fitness2020 has announced they will be opening a new gym at SR 155 and East Lake Parkway. They will be leasing the former Kroger grocery store space.
Kroger opened a new Marketplace store in March 2024. This left a vacancy in their former space.
Fitness2020 East Lake
Fitness2020 operates two locations right now in Henry County. They are in Eagles Landing and McDonough. The new East Lake location will be about twice the size of their Eagles Landing location.

SR 155 at East Lake Parkway
In addition to the new gym, other retailers are coming soon to the Union Grove area. Halpern Enterprises, Inc. is constructing new retail space at 5905 East Lake Parkway. This is adjacent to the Taco Bell restaurant. So far, Whataburger and T-Mobile are announced tenants. Three outparcels remain available. Construction plans also call for 84 townhomes at this location.
Finally, new shop space will be building beside the new Kroger. What Now Atlanta reported there will be two retail buildings. ”Each building would be about 13,538 square feet, according to construction documents related to the project. The one-story structures would each include about eight tenant spaces of various sizes, ranging from 1,312 square feet to 2,413 square feet” (April 17, 2024).
