State Representative Lauren Daniel is inviting her constituents to a town hall meeting later this month. The main topic will be everyone’s recent tax bills, residents’ options to file an appeal, and steps the state has taken to reduce taxes.

The town hall will be on Tuesday, May 23, in Locust Grove. It will take place at the Locust Grove Event Center beginning at 6:30 pm. The event center is located at 280 Mose Brown Drive off Bowden Street.

Tax Bills Town Hall

Rep. Daniel has scheduled the town hall meeting after residents reached out over their recent property tax bills. She is asking attendees to bring their assessment notices. Part of the meeting will be to help residents understand the appeal process. The appeal deadline is in June.

In addition, the town hall will share updates following this year’s legislative session. State lawmakers met from January through March. Finally, the meeting will touch on local updates such as traffic and school safety.

Representative Daniel represents house district 117 at the State Capitol. The district has a portion of Henry and Spalding Counties. It includes the Locust Grove, Ola and Luella communities. Daniel was first elected to the state house in 2022.
