Georgia DOT to resurface US 19/41 through Spalding County

Georgia DOT approved the resurfacing of US Highway 19/41 in Spalding County. The contract covers eleven miles from the Henry County line to the US 19 & US 41 split south of Griffin.

The state DOT accepted construction bids through November 18, 2022. They announced a contract award on Friday, December 2.

US 19/41 Resurfacing

The Spalding County resurfacing project will cost the state nearly $16 million dollars. E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc. of Snellville, GA submitted the low bid valued at $15,719,877.66.

Motorists can expect to see the majority of road work next spring and summer when temperatures are warmer. The project completion date is October 31, 2023.

This section of US 19/41 through Spalding County last saw resurfacing in 2011. Before then, different sections were done in 2000 and 1993.

US 19/41 in Henry County

Georgia DOT is also planning to resurface US 19/41 within Henry County. The state will accept construction bids in February 2023 to resurface the road between the Clayton and Spalding County lines.

The Henry County section was likewise last resurfaced in 2011.
