QuikTrip is building a new store front on highway 20 and Meineke Car Care is building its first location in Henry County. Both are within the city limits of McDonough.

QuikTrip Exit 218

Following plans made in 2020, QuikTrip is moving ahead with construction for a new location at I-75 exit 218. The site is at the northeast corner of the interchange, formerly occupied by Ruby Tuesday and Waffle House. When complete, the existing store at Willow Lane will close.

Initially, ForCAST Real Estate Development proposed an oil change business and quick service drive-thru restaurant for the Ruby Tuesday tract. Instead, their development is expected to occupy the current QuikTrip site after the new QT opens.

QuikTrip is building a new side entrance off Old Industrial Blvd. This will compliment vehicle access off Georgia 20. The highway 20 access will be limited to right-in / right-out. Motorists leaving the QT wishing to travel towards downtown McDonough will have to travel across the interstate, U-turn at the Avalon Pkwy / Chick-fil-A red light then return back across I-75.

QuikTrip has a 15-year lease for the property. Faris Lee Investments of Irvine, California brokered the sale of the property during summer 2022.

Meineke Car Care

Further west on highway 20, Meineke Car Care is building its first Henry County location. The company presently has fourteen Georgia locations.

The new oil change and auto service center will be at 1720 Highway 20 West, McDonough. This is next to the existing O’Reilly Auto Parts store. According to real estate listings, the new service center is expected to open in October 2022.
