Saturday library hours made their return this month at all five Henry County Public Libraries. This marks the first time since 2010 that Saturday hours are available at every location.
Henry County Libraries are now open between 10 am to 2 pm on Saturdays. This is in addition to their regular weekday hours.

Return of Saturday Hours
Saturday hours were cut from the library budget during the Great Recession. Prior to now, funding had not been restored to support them. The restoration of Saturday library hours is part of the county’s Fiscal Year 2022–2023 budget. The county’s fiscal year began on July 1.
In a press release, Kathryn Pillatzki shared “this has been the number one request from the public for the last twelve years, and we are excited and grateful to the taxpayers and commissioners for helping us achieve this goal.” Pillatzki serves as director of the Henry County Library System.
The county increased the library funding from $2.3 million to $2.6 million annually to support the return of Saturday hours. The additional funds also allow for a new community outreach position so Henry County Libraries can better reach underserved communities.
