Henry County’s newest Publix Super Market opened on the morning of Wednesday, February 10, at Shoppes at Ola Crossroads. The grocery store is located at the intersection of state route 81 and North Ola Road.

JWA Ventures, LLC of Montgomery, AL developed the 48,000 square foot store. The project sits on 15.57 acres.

The store features an upstairs seating area and drive-thru pharmacy — both first’s at Henry County locations. Departments available include bakery, deli, produce, floral, seafood and meats & cheeses. Store hours are 7 am to 9 pm daily.

The auxiliary shops have not yet opened. The following tenants have leased space:

  • Great Clips
  • Lush Nail Bar
  • Graffiti’s Pizza
  • Lazy Llama, a local coffee shop.
  • Cake n Shake
  • Beehive Beauty Salon
  • 81 North

Four spaces remain available ranging in size between 1,000–3,000 sq ft. Dart Retail Advisors is handling leasing information.

On the three outparcels, a new Wendy’s fast food restaurant is under construction. The other two outparcels remain available.

Ola Road Improvements

During construction, the developer installed new turn lanes on both state route 81 and North Ola Road to facilitate access into the grocery store. Henry County is concurrently buying right of way on the re-alignment of South Ola Road. When complete, the re-alignment will connect South Ola Road to the existing traffic signal at SR 81 and North Ola Road.

The South Ola Road re-alignment is funded through SPLOST V. Commission district I budgeted $2,683,528 for the project.

Second New Publix in Kelleytown

Publix Super Markets is planning a second new store in Henry County. A new Publix grocery store in the Kelleytown area is forecast to open during 2022. The property is located at the southeast corner of state route 155 and Kelleytown Road.

The board of commissioners approved a rezoning request for the project in July 2020. The new store is also being developed by JWA Ventures. It will follow a similar site plan.
