As 2020 draws to a close, Moving Henry Forward likes to recap the year through some of our biggest stories. Here’s a look at our top ten posts of the year, as decided by our readers and the number of views on individual articles.

5. Early Voting sites added in October
Following long lines and higher-than-expected turnout during the first two days of early voting, Henry County launched additional early voting sites in October. Four early voting sites opened ahead of schedule for the November 2020 election.
4. Democrats sweep into countywide offices
Democratic candidates carried the ballot in Henry County during the November election. Starting in January, new Sheriff Reginald Scandrett, Commission Chair Carlotta Harrell, and Clerk of Superior Court Sabriya Hill will take office.
3. Chick-fil-A planned in Locust Grove
Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A is planning a new location off I-75 exit 212 / Bill Gardner Parkway. The company applied for a variance and the Locust Grove city council approved it this fall.
This week, I shared a similar request in Union Grove. The company is scheduled to appear before the zoning advisory board in January.
2. Candidates for Henry County Sheriff
Ten candidates qualified in March to succeed retiring Sheriff Keith McBrayer. McBrayer retires after forty-five years of service to Henry County, including twelve as Sheriff.

Elections coverage stole the show in 2020 and my top post is no exception. Thanks to strong performance in Google search results, the early voting schedule for the November election rose to the top this year.
