Early voting for the combined June 9 primary continues on Tuesday, May 26, and will be offered daily through Friday, June 5. Saturday and Sunday voting will be offered this weekend.
Voters are being asked to participate in the presidential preference primary (originally postponed from March), state and local office primary (postponed from May), and non-partisan general election. Voters that already participated in the presidential primary will not see that office on their ballots.
Early voting is offered at two locations during this week, May 26 – 29, between the hours of 8am and 5pm. These locations are the elections office in downtown McDonough and Merle Manders Conference Center in Stockbridge.
The two locations will also offer Sunday voting on May 31 between 1pm and 5pm.
On Saturday, May 30, early voting will be offered at five locations:
- Henry County Elections Office, McDonough
- Merle Manders Conference Center, Stockbridge
- Fortson Library, Hampton
- Locust Grove Library
- Fairview Recreation Center
Hours are from 9am to 4pm.
Finally, during the week of June 1 – 5, early voting will be offered at the locations mentioned above in addition to JP Moseley Recreation Center in Stockbridge. Hours are 7am to 7pm.
During the first week of early voting, 2,632 Henry County voters participated in advanced in-person voting. An additional 12,291 have turned in their absentee ballot.

Ballot Items
Many voters have expressed interest in the open election for Henry County Sheriff, featuring seven Democratic candidates and three Republicans. Moving Henry Forward published candidate questionnaires, first produced by Locust Grove News, on our website this week.
Other contested elections include the three-way Democratic Primary for district II commissioner and three seats on the Henry County school board. The board of education seats are non-partisan and will be decided in the June 9 election, barring a potential runoff.
Information on all candidates can be found on our sample ballot webpage.
Notice there are no early voting sites in the eastern part of the county. Wonder why? Fairview has a site.
