The Henry County Board of Commissioners has announced a special called meeting to be held on Wednesday, April 1, at 3 pm. The meeting will be conducted via teleconference and broadcast live on the county’s website.

In a notice posted by the county, the purpose of the meeting is to consider adopting a shelter-in-place ordinance. The board decided against adopting one during a special called meeting on Friday.

To date, no local government in Henry County has issued a shelter-in-place ordinance. Because Henry County ordinances only affect unincorporated areas, a true countywide SIP would require the approval of all four cities.

As of Monday, March 30, at 12 noon, there are 58 confirmed cases of COVID-19 among Henry County residents. There have been two fatalities, both males aged 73 and 80.
